We would like to formally announce the retirement of Ray Scheaffer, CPA, Principal, Tax and Advisory
Ray served as ASL’s Managing Principal for 15 years. His leadership, vision, and passion for the profession helped ASL become one of the top firms in the country. Ray has over 30 years of public accounting experience with a focus on partnering with leading Bay Area closely-held companies and their owners to help them achieve their business and personal goals. His areas of expertise included corporate and partnership tax, real estate and construction, estate and gift, and litigation support. Ray’s team was dedicated to supporting and adding value to clients throughout their various stages of development.
We appreciate all that Ray has done for the Firm and wish him a very happy retirement!
We would like to formally announce the retirement of Michael McAndrews, CPA, Principal, Tax and Advisory
Mike brought to ASL over 35 years of experience providing tax planning and consulting services to multinational public companies, high-net-worth individuals, private companies and their owners, and emerging businesses and entrepreneurs in a variety of industries including high-technology, manufacturing, food processing, and wholesale/retail distribution. His substantial experience included assisting clients with tax issues and planning associated with domestic and international expansion, mergers and acquisitions, financial accounting for taxes, California and multistate taxation, and equity compensation arrangements. In the ten years he has spent with ASL, Mike led ASL’s Technology Group and established and led ASL’s High-Net-Worth Individual Group. Mike was also ASL’s Tax Practice leader in 2019 and 2020.
Mike will continue in the role of Partner Emeritus with ASL, assisting partners on a variety of issues and projects. In addition, Mike will continue to be an active member of the ASL House Band, “Calculated Risk” of which he was a co-founder.
We are thankful to Mike for his contributions to the Firm and wish him well in retirement!
