About Bill
Bill Dempsey, CPA, is a Tax Director in the ASL Tax Group. He has over 25 years of experience, which includes both public accounting and industry, where he worked for a Fortune 500 financial services company and as a controller of a high-tech startup. He is skilled in entity planning, tax and financial accounting, business and individual income taxation, and consulting for closely-held businesses and their owners in various industries such as real estate, health care, construction, and manufacturing and distribution. His focus is on mitigating tax liabilities through thoughtful tax planning, understanding and navigating tax law changes and representing for his clients before the IRS and state tax commissions.
Prior to joining ASL, Bill and his wife, Amy, merged their boutique tax practice with a Top 10 public accounting firm.
Bill received his Bachelor of Science degree, Business Administration (Finance concentration), from the University of San Francisco.
Outside the office, Bill enjoys golfing, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his wife, Amy, son, Colin, and daughter, Lauren.
